I have a stash of Thimbleberries fabrics by RJR Fabrics that I've been collecting (hoarding) for 10 years. I decided to try making a Lone Star block with them. I have been wanting to make a lone star block for a long time, I love how they look and I do live in the Lone Star state, plus its our daughter Laurel's favorite block. I cut 1 1/2" strips to make the diamond units of the block.
I was trying to get the Valentine feel to the block, do you think I succeeded? This block was definitely a challenge which included Y seams and bias edges. I will keep practicing the Y seam and make a few more practice blocks until I have Y seams down!
Until the next post Happy Quilting!
